State Retirement Pensions: Females

Dr Francis: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what recent discussions he has had with trade unions regarding women who will see their state pension age increased by one year or more as a result of the proposed change in the state pension age for women; and if he will make a statement.

Steve Webb: Prior to the introduction of the Pensions Bill into the House of Lords, the Minister for Welfare Reform, the noble Lord Freud, had meetings with a number of stakeholder organisations including representatives from Trade Unions to discuss our proposals.
