Culture, Media and Sport - Contracts: Businesses

Dr Francis: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what proportion of contracts let by (a) his Department and (b) agencies for which he is responsible were awarded to companies in (i) Wales and (ii) Aberavon constituency in the latest period for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement.
John Penrose: During the accounting period 2010-11, the Department and its agency awarded no contracts in Wales or the Aberavon constituency, but all contracts were made available for companies and organisations to bid for where services and goods were not secured through framework agreements. The Department does however have an on-going contract in Newport.
