MP supports Mencap Project

Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis recently held discussions with Mencap Cymru on ways in which better support could be given by Parliament to young people with learning difficulties, including their democratic and benefit rights.

Dr Francis said,
'I was very pleased to welcome Sara Pickard of Mencap Cymru to my constituency office.
I was impressed with her review of Mencap Cymru's work with young people particularly her own work in schools and colleges, raising awareness about voting and also accessible benefits information.
I undertook to raise a number of key issues with UK Ministers, particularly the Secretary of State for Wales, Rt Hon Paul Murphy MP.'
