MP backs No Smoking Day!

Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis is supporting the National No Smoking Day for March 11th by urging community and individual initiatives to encourage the quitting of smoking.
Dr Francis said,
‘Last year 1.2 million people quit smoking on National Smoking Day. This year I hope there will be many local initiatives and events at community centres, schools, colleges, hospitals, shopping centres and local businesses to encourage the quitting of smoking.’
‘Smoking remains the number one cause of avoidable premature deaths in the UK. I hope my Aberavon constituency will lead the way in events and activities to encourage this important national health initiative.’
