Community Hero welcomed in 10 Downing Street

Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis escorted Julie Dawkins from the Gateway Club in Port Talbot to No. 10 Downing street to meet the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown MP and Sarah Brown.
Dr Francis said,
‘I was extremely proud that Julie Dawkins had the opportunity to meet Gordon and Sarah Brown in the reception for Community Heroes in 10 Downing Street. Julie was chosen by me because of her sterling work and commitment to helping disabled adults have a quality of life.’
Dr Francis added,
‘Julie works as a volunteer for the Everybody’s Gateway Club that brings together adults with special needs to meet socially and to enjoy an annual holiday by the sea. The Club relies on charitable donations and I hope that this visit has given the Club the recognition it deserves.’
