MP re-launches book on Spain

Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis is launching a new edition of a book on the Spanish Civil War which he first published in 1984.
Dr Francis said,
‘My book Miners Against Fascism: Wales and the Spanish Civil War is being re-issued to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Basque refugee children arriving in this country.
The launch will take place at the South Wales Miners Library in Swansea as a tribute to the people of the locality who Cover of Hywel Francis’ new book welcomed these children and established a home for them at Sketty Hall in Swansea.
Dr Francis added,
‘The book tells the story of the solidarity of the Welsh people especially the miners in their struggle for democracy in Spain in the 1930s.’
